Dietitians and nutritionists both highly recommend including almonds in your diet as it boosts your overall physical and mental health. When it comes to the consumption of almonds, there is a multitude of ways you can enjoy them.

Much on them on their own, add them to your salads or smoothies, or even drink homemade almond milk. Even better, make almond butter using just almonds and a sprinkle of sea salt. Here at Nature's Eats, we love adding them to smoothies. Here are four smoothie recipes using almonds that you should try soon.

Almond Butter & Berry Smoothie

Six ingredients and ready within 5 minutes. This smoothie is a great option for breakfast or before a workout. Feel free to use any kind of berries, but today's recipe will use blueberries. Get creative!

  • 1 cup frozen banana chunks (about 1 whole banana)
  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 tbsp. almond butter
  • 1 tbsp. flax seeds
  • 1 tbsp. chia seeds
  • Protein powder (optional)
  • ½ cup almond milk

Blend ingredients until smooth. Add more almond milk or water if it is too thick for your liking.

Almond Banana Coconut Smoothie

Looking for an energy boost? This is the smoothie for you.

  • 1 cup frozen banana chunks (about 1 whole banana)
  • 1-2 tbsp. cacao powder
  • ½ cup almond milk
  • 2 tbsp. almond butter
  • 1 tbsp. shredded coconut
  • 1 tbsp. rolled oats

Blend all ingredients until smooth.

Green Almond Smoothie

Got a smoothie craving, but don't want something too sweet? Here you go.

  • 1 cup frozen banana chunks (about 1 whole banana)
  • 1/2 cup berries of choice
  • 1 tbsp. flaxseeds
  • 2 tbsp. almond butter
  • ½ cup almond milk
  • 1 cup spinach or leafy greens

Blend all ingredients until smooth.

Almond Avocado Smoothie

This next smoothie is a great post-workout treat.

  • 1 cup almond milk
  • Ice (as needed)
  • 1 avocado, peeled and frozen
  • 1 tbsp, honey
  • 1 banana, peeled and frozen
  • Blend all ingredients until smooth.
